CRIMINAL DEFENSE

In addition to its civil practice, Ritt, Tai, Thvedt & Hodges has a very active, successful, criminal practice.  The firm represents both individuals and businesses in the defense of criminal prosecution. 

Mr. Ritt has represented defendants in alleged criminal activities ranging from money laundering and bribery in federal court to capital murder in state court matters.

Mr. Ritt and other firm attorneys, actively represent indigent clients convicted of capital crimes in habeas corpus proceedings to prevent execution.  The firm  successfully obtained a unanimous decision from the California Supreme Court overturning the death penalty of our client.  As a result of the firm’s experience and success in representing death row inmates in habeas proceedings, RTTH attorneys have been invited to speak at many seminars on criminal defense and habeas issues.
